Okay, so New Year, New You? No? Same you? That’s okay, we feel you.
Resolutions are so 2018 anyways.
Plus, they are always the same things every year and guess what?! Here we are still wanting to get in shape and eat better.
Let’s shake things up this year and actually accomplish our goals but with a different approach to it.
This year, let’s focus on doing just 1% better than we did the previous day. That is all, just 1%.
That means, instead of trying to reach our unrealistic goals like going to the gym every day or reading a few books a month, try to focus on the goals you can easily accomplish on a daily basis.
Take baby steps, we go so hard in the first couple weeks of January, we lose steam and fizzle out by February 1st. According to U.S News “, 80% of peoples New Year’s Resolutions fail by February”. (link to article - https://health.usnews.com/health-news/blogs/eat-run/articles/2015-12-29/why-80-percent-of-new-years-resolutions-fail)
So, what’s the point of making unrealistic goals if we’re not even going to stick to them? Trying to do 1% better than the previous day seems more attainable to us than trying to go above and beyond for unlikely goals.
We’ve made a list of small things you can accomplish every day and still feel good about doing so! Plus, doing small things every day can amount to making great habits for the rest of the year.
Here’s our list:
Take a walk
Stretch it out
Read a chapter in a new book
Trying to do at least one of these a day can amount to big accomplishments. We hope you have a great 2019 and accomplish everything and anything this year!
